This weekend we previewed the Beyond Rubik’s Cube exhibit at The DoSeum (aka the children’s museum) and all the kids AND adults had a great time. The exhibit will be on from now until May 12, 2016 and it definitely solves the – What to do this weekend- puzzle. The Beyond Rubik’s Cube exhibit is free with regular paid admission and they will be hosting several special events throughout it’s run.
You can enjoy interactive experiences in robotics, art, music, computer programming, and engineering at this exhibition celebrating over 40 years of creativity based on the world’s bestselling puzzle toy.
Beyond Rubiks Cube Events at the DoSeum
First is ReDo Recess: Retro Rubik’s Edition on Thursday, March 24. This is an adults only fun night out from 6-9 PM. With arcade and old school games, an 80’s costume contest, a little karaoke and a cub master session. You don’t want to miss it! Buy your tickets here. The museum will also be hosting Learn to Cube workshops on April 2, 9, 23 & 30.
Finally, no Rubik’s Cube display is complete without a speed cubing event. You can participate in the World Speed Cubing Competition on May 1.
Of course The DoSeum is a family favorite and the beyond the Rubik’s Cube exhibit all the regular well loved activities are also there for you to enjoy. The girls love the slide, water features, the elf house and ball drop area. When we visit it usually turns into a whole day affair because it’s so hard to get our littles to leave.
The DoSeum is open daily and admission is free for members or $12 per person. Children under 1 get in free.
The DoSeum is also a favorite for birthday parties and camps. We are really looking forward to another season of fun and might even be back to the Rubik’s Cube exhibit to try our hand at learning to cube. It’s totally worth a visit so we hope you’ll come out and experience the fun for yourself.
