Paint to Beethoven with the San Antonio Symphony
Have you noticed how a sensory experience affects you? Music is a strong sensory stimulus that many of us use when exercising, writing, or trying to complete other tasks but to be honest I had never really thought of how music would affect the artistic process. That is, until the San Antonio Symphony shared info on their Paint to Beethoven weekend. Why hadn’t I thought of this before?!
During the last concert weekend of the season, Beethoven Violin Concerto & Mahler’s “Titan” Symphony, the SA Symphony will include a free simulcast and family-orientated “Paint to Beethoven” art contest at the Tobin Center Riverwalk Plaza, on Friday, June 3.
The Paint to Beethoven contest is free and open to the public and it will include a call for students and an amateur/professionals to sign up to participate in the arts competitions helping to promote the Symphony’s educational programs.
The June 3rd evening will also feature:
—Drawings of San Antonio Symphony door prizes throughout the event
—An Art Auction of student art pieces from the 2016 Paint to Music Contest hosted by the San Antonio Symphony League
The art contest will take place at the start of the concert and judged during intermission. Winners will receive tickets to an upcoming concert next season, bragging rights and Symphony swag.
