If you live in San Antonio or need yet another reason to visit then you don’t want to miss the 3rd Annual San Antonio Book Festival taking place on April 11, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The one-day event, which is free and open to the public, is packed with activity so there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy on the grounds of the Central Library and the Southwest School of Art.
The festival is meant to engage and spark conversations and discussions among authors and audience members and “…this year’s lineup features esteemed local authors and widely acclaimed award-winners. From photography to poetry, YA to murder mysteries, history to conservation, and cookbooks to the O.K. corral, this year’s lineup has a little something for every kind of reader.” Click here for the full 2015 author lineup.
With a 7 year-old in a dual-language program, a 3 year-old who’ll be starting preschool in August, and the two of us with very different tastes in books we’ve identified activities we don’t want to miss. Of course we’ll be in Geektown meeting authors, playing games, and learning about robotics at the GeekBus. We’ll also make sure to stop in the MyStory area to learn about the art of the interview.
Our family also loves art so we hope to send time on Augusta street and the Central Library Plaza making our own books and enjoying the music lineup but you want to stay connected and get a full view of all the activities you can either download the app or click here to see a PDF of the schedule
In addition to the live music you can also enjoy food trucks and recipe demonstrations by cookbook authors. Plus the exhibitor tent will give you the opportunity to buy educational, literary, and cultural items.
So much to do and so little time… Take a look at the video below to get a sense of what to expect. Hope to see you there!
