Our checklist for guides
Every guide on My Tots Travel goes through the same checklist before it is published. Here it is, so you can judge how much to rely on what you read.
1. Practical first
Guides are built around what a parent actually does: pack, plan, get through security, buckle a car seat, settle a child to sleep in a strange room. Each one starts with a short “Before you go” list and is marked with the ages it suits most.
2. No made-up stories or numbers
We don’t invent families, anecdotes, experts or quotes, and we don’t write as if our own children were on the trip. We leave out statistics unless they come from a clear, well-known official source, and we don’t cite studies we can’t point to.
3. Rules that change are flagged, not guessed
Airline policies, airport security allowances, car seat laws, document requirements, prices and opening hours vary by country and change over time. Rather than print numbers that may be wrong next month, we tell you what to check and where: your airline, the airport, the official government or road safety site, and your car seat’s own manual.
4. Health questions go to your pediatrician
We never give medicine doses, vaccine timings or diagnoses. Health and safety guides describe general, widely accepted advice and end with a “When to call your pediatrician” section, including signs that need urgent care. Read the full kids’ health note.
5. Nothing to sell
No product picks, brand names, affiliate links or sponsored posts. If a choice of gear matters, we explain the criteria instead.
6. How AI is used
We use AI writing tools to help produce first drafts. Every draft then gets a separate fact-checking pass against the rules above, which removes unsupported claims, changeable numbers and anything that sounds like medical instruction, and a final read by the editors before it is published. AI help does not replace that check.
7. Corrections
If you find an error, email [email protected]. We fix mistakes promptly and update the guide.
