Aer Lingus has some helpful policies for families traveling with children. For an infant or child booking, Aer Lingus allows one stroller to be checked for free, plus one additional item like a car seat, booster seat, or travel cot. On transatlantic flights to and from the USA, Aer Lingus offers what it calls “very low cost fares” for lap infants under two years old.

Lap infants and infant fares
On Aer Lingus, a child is considered an infant until they are two years old. For transatlantic flights to and from the USA, the airline offers “very low cost fares” for infants traveling on an adult’s lap. If you would rather buy a separate seat for your baby, you can book them as a child. When you do this, your infant will receive any checked baggage allowances that are included with their ticket.

Strollers and car seats
Aer Lingus allows families to check a good amount of baby equipment. For an infant or child booking, you can check one fully collapsible buggy or stroller at no charge. In addition to the stroller, you are also allowed to check one car seat, booster seat, or travel cot for free.
You can check your stroller with your main luggage or, if you need it in the airport, you can hand it over at the gate before you board.
