Singapore Airlines car seat and stroller policy
Your guide to Singapore Airlines rules for family travel. Learn about checking strollers and car seats for free, carry-on stroller size, and infant baggage.
Singapore Airlines offers a notable benefit for families: you can check both a car seat and a fully collapsible stroller for free, and these do not count against your standard baggage allowance. You may also bring a compact, foldable, lightweight stroller into the cabin, though it will count as a piece of your cabin baggage.

Strollers and car seats
You can check a fully collapsible stroller and a car seat for free on Singapore Airlines flights. This is in addition to your regular checked bag allowance. If you prefer to bring a stroller on board, it must be a compact, foldable model that weighs under 7kg. Its combined dimensions of length, width, and height cannot exceed 115cm. This stroller will be considered one piece of your cabin baggage allowance. Child harnesses used on board must be FAA-approved, such as the AmSafe CARES system.
“You can carry a compact, foldable lightweight stroller on board the cabin if it meets the requirements below. The stroller will be regarded as one piece of cabin baggage, and will count towards your cabin baggage allowance.
Less than 7kg, and sum of length, width and height should not exceed 115cm.”Official wording, singaporeair.com, checked Oct 21, 2026

Baby baggage
Infants are entitled to their own free checked baggage allowance on Singapore Airlines flights. The specific amount depends on your itinerary and class of travel. Under the airline’s ‘Weight Concept’, the allowance is up to 10kg. Under the ‘Piece Concept’, it is one piece of baggage weighing up to 23kg or 32kg. Because the allowance varies, it is a good idea to confirm with the airline which concept applies to your tickets before you travel.
“Infants are entitled to up to 10kg (Weight Concept) or 1 piece of baggage up to 23kg/32kg (Piece Concept) of free checked baggage allowance on SIA flights, depending on the itinerary and class of travel.”

Sitting together
When you travel with young children in the same booking, Singapore Airlines allows you to select standard seats for free. This is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so choosing your seats early can be helpful. The policy for free standard seats does not apply to seats in the emergency exit row. The airline’s page that we checked does not define ‘young children’, so you may want to confirm the specific age qualifications for this benefit.
“Select standard seats for free, on a first-come-first-served basis, when you travel with young children in the same booking. This excludes seats in the emergency exit row due to flight safety requirement.”
