Strollers and car seats
Delta allows you to check strollers and child safety seats for free. You can check both a stroller and a child safety seat for free, and they will not count against your regular baggage allowance. You have the flexibility to check these items when you first arrive at the airport, either at the curbside or ticket counter, or you can bring them through security and check them at the gate.
If you have bought a ticket for your child, they can use their own FAA-approved child safety seat or a CARES harness on the aircraft.
“Children's strollers and child safety seats are not counted as part of the standard baggage and therefore can be easily checked for free. For your convenience, these items may be checked at the curbside, the ticket counter or at the gate.”

Baby baggage
When traveling with a baby on your lap on Delta, it is important to plan your packing carefully. According to the airline’s policy, infants traveling for free do not get their own baggage allowance. This means any bag you bring specifically for your baby will be counted as part of the accompanying adult’s baggage allowance. Be sure to check your own allowance to see how this fits with your travel plans.
“If children are traveling for free, they don’t have a baggage allowance. So, any baggage for the child counts as part of the adult's baggage allowance.”

Sitting together
Delta states that it strives to seat family members together when you request it. When booking your flights, check your seat assignments. If you find that your family is not seated together on the seat map on the website or the Fly Delta mobile app, the airline advises you to contact its reservations department. A reservations agent can then review the available seating options with you to help your family sit together.
“Delta strives to seat family members together upon request. If you are unable to obtain seat assignments together for your family using delta.com or the Fly Delta mobile app, please contact reservations to review available seating options.”
