Delta unaccompanied minor policy: ages, fee and rules

Find Delta's unaccompanied minor rules for kids flying alone. Our guide covers the mandatory service for ages 5-14, the $150 fee, and teen travel options.

Delta requires its Unaccompanied Minor program for children ages 5 through 14 who are traveling by themselves. A notable detail is that the $150 each-way fee can cover up to four children traveling together, like siblings. Children 4 years old and younger are not permitted to fly alone.

Kids flying alone

Delta’s program is mandatory for children ages 5 to 14. You will pay a service fee of $150 USD/CAD/EUR for each one-way trip. If you have multiple children flying together, this single fee covers up to four of them. For teens ages 15 to 17, you can decline the service, but be aware that they will then be expected to manage their own boarding and find connecting gates without airline supervision.
