EL AL unaccompanied minor policy: ages, fee and rules
A guide to EL AL's rules for children flying alone. Find the required ages for the unaccompanied minor service (5 to under 15) and flight restrictions.
EL AL requires its unaccompanied minor service for children flying alone from age 5 to under age 15. A key point for parents is that this service is only available on nonstop EL AL flights and cannot be used for itineraries that include connections. Children under the age of 5 are not permitted to travel by themselves and must be with a companion who is at least 16 years old.
The service is optional for teens from age 15 to under age 18. Since airline policies can be updated, it is always a good practice to confirm all rules and procedures directly with EL AL when you book your child’s ticket.
