Iberia unaccompanied minor policy: ages, fee and rules
Iberia allows children 12 and up to fly alone as adults. Find out about the optional unaccompanied minor service for teens 12 to 17 on Iberia flights.
Iberia’s policy for children traveling alone is notable because the airline considers children adults for travel purposes starting from age 12. This means a 12-year-old can fly without an adult and without a mandatory special service. For young people aged 12 to 17, an optional Unaccompanied Minor service is available if you would like them to have assistance.

Kids flying alone
Children can travel by themselves on Iberia Group flights once they are 12 years old. For fares and flight regulations, the airline considers them adults from this age. If you have a child between the ages of 12 and 17, you have the choice to book the Unaccompanied Minor service for them, but it is not required.
This service is offered on all flights that are both sold and operated by Iberia, Iberia Express, and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum. It can be used for direct flights as well as for trips that include a connection in Madrid.
