Korean Air bassinet: what the airline says

Flying with a baby on Korean Air? See rules for requesting a bassinet, including deadlines for Economy and Prestige, and learn about lap infant fares.

Korean Air offers bassinets on its flights, but you must request one by selecting a specific bassinet seat in advance. The deadline for this request is different for Economy and Prestige Class, so it’s important to plan ahead. For lap infants, the airline has clear fare rules that depend on whether your flight is domestic or international.

Lap infant rules that go with a bassinet

On Korean Air, an infant under 24 months old travels on a guardian’s lap. The fare depends on the route: travel is free of charge on domestic flights, but costs 10% of the normal adult fare on international flights. If one adult is traveling with two infants, one of the babies must have their own seat purchased at a child fare.

If an infant turns 24 months of age or older during the trip, a separate seat must be purchased for them at the child fare.

“If boarding with an infant under 24 months old, the accompanying guardian must first fasten their own seat belt and then hold the infant on their lap, outside their seat belt.”
