Korean Air car seat and stroller policy

A guide to Korean Air's rules for strollers, car seats, and infant baggage. Learn about the free allowance for baby gear and the family seating policy for Canada flights.

Korean Air’s free baggage allowance for infants on international flights includes one bag, one foldable stroller, and one car seat or bassinet. The airline also has a specific policy for seating children under 14 near a guardian at no extra charge on flights to or from Canada booked directly with Korean Air.

Airline policies can be updated, so it is always a good practice to confirm the details for your specific flight directly with Korean Air when you book your tickets.

Strollers and car seats

You can bring a stroller to the boarding gate. If its combined dimensions are more than 115 cm, it must be checked at the gate. The airline’s page that we checked does not specify the policy for smaller strollers. Korean Air also permits the use of safety harnesses on board, as long as they are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“Strollers exceeding a total of 115 cm in combined dimensions may be used up to the boarding gate but must be checked at the gate.”

Baby baggage

For international flights, an infant’s free baggage allowance includes one bag, one foldable stroller, and one car seat or bassinet. On domestic flights in Korea, the allowance for an infant covers one foldable stroller and one car seat or bassinet. This allows you to check essential baby gear without an extra charge.

Sitting together

Korean Air has a specific rule for family seating on certain routes. For flights to or from Canada that are booked directly with the airline, children under the age of 14 can be assigned a seat near their guardian for no additional charge. The policy on the page we checked does not mention seating arrangements for other routes, so be sure to ask when you make your reservation.
