KLM car seat and stroller policy
Your guide to flying KLM with kids. See the rules on bringing a free stroller and car seat for each child and how KLM seats children under 12 with an adult.
KLM offers clear and helpful policies for families traveling with children. For each child, the airline allows you to bring one stroller, buggy, or back carrier, plus one car seat or Child Aviation Restraint System (CARES), at no extra charge, which can make planning and packing much simpler. KLM also has a straightforward rule for ensuring young children are seated next to an adult in their party.
Airline rules can be updated, so we always suggest you confirm these specific allowances and procedures directly with KLM when you book your flight. This will ensure you have the most current information for your trip.

Strollers and car seats
For each child in your traveling party, KLM allows you to bring one stroller, buggy, or back carrier free of charge. In addition to that item, you can also bring one car seat or a Child Aviation Restraint System (CARES) for each child, also at no extra charge. The official information we reviewed does not detail the procedure for checking these items or bringing them to the gate, so it is a good idea to ask the airline for specifics.

Sitting together
KLM has a policy to keep families seated together on the aircraft. Children under 12 years old will always be given a seat next to an adult in the same booking. This provides some certainty that you will not be separated from your child during the flight.
Be aware that for all KLM flights that are to, from, or via Canada, this rule applies to children under 13 years old.
